lyrics
Devastated from finding the truth
Hidden, by lies
Manifest my emboldened self
That you taught me to despise
Take away my dignity with
Your strict, control
Torn apart by the distain
When you finally face my vitriol
Reject the shadows that you project
The truth prevails
Alleviate the weight on me
From your, ego
These stale tactics you use
Are so easily seen through
Never again will I be crossed
By you, your kind
Preservation of myself
Will become your loss you'll find in time
Reject the shadows that you project
The truth prevails
Karmic Retribution
Prepare for your demise x2
Rediscover my freedom
The end? Unsure
Ruminate on all the pain
I was coerced to endure
Bridges burned but ash remains
Cannot turn back
New journey ahead of me
The unending night begins to crack
Another seamless blend of extreme genres from Stortregn. Killer riffs, tasty basslines, and lots of fun tech influences in the composition and instrumentation make this an absolute banger front to back. Facepalming Panda
A captivating combination of genres – essentially proggy death metal. A seamless 60 minutes full of musical ideas. A little noodly at times, but I enjoy the clean guitar work. Lyrically, it sits somewhere between nihilism and humanism – anti-religion, but more broadly institutional than the typical metal fare. There's a relish to the violence against women imagery in "Slave" which I don't enjoy, but on the whole this album stands up to scrutiny from most directions. Certainly not run of the mill Luke
A beautiful journey from start to finish, with perfectly placed moments of gentility amidst the rhythmic intrigue and blast beats of their guest drummer. jsteadmanfan
Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
