lyrics
Ruined earth, orb of hate
All lifeforms, must escape
Since her birth, now decayed
Firestorms, a reminder that we've strayed
Sprint to the ship, before it's too late
Noxious gas, blackened skies
Mankind has, sealed our fate
Evacuate, as all light dies
Alone in the universe
A nightmare come true
Explosions, crystal clear
From above, stare in fear
Businessmen, stench of greed
Congressmen, planters of the fatal seed
Put on your suit, before it's too late
Pray and wait, the end is near
Out of air, cannot respirate
We will lose all we hold dear
Alone in the universe
A nightmare come true
I've lost the others in this sea of stars
The earth destroyed, and left with scars
The void engulfs me as I slip away
A distress signal, the sound that remains
Foolish we were to ruin our home
Do we deserve redemption? A tomb?
Tragic acts make this life succinct
Greedy ideals make us extinct
All alone in the universe
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
A nightmare come true
Entropy dissolves all of us
Our absence is meaningless

Another seamless blend of extreme genres from Stortregn. Killer riffs, tasty basslines, and lots of fun tech influences in the composition and instrumentation make this an absolute banger front to back. Facepalming Panda

A captivating combination of genres – essentially proggy death metal. A seamless 60 minutes full of musical ideas. A little noodly at times, but I enjoy the clean guitar work. Lyrically, it sits somewhere between nihilism and humanism – anti-religion, but more broadly institutional than the typical metal fare. There's a relish to the violence against women imagery in "Slave" which I don't enjoy, but on the whole this album stands up to scrutiny from most directions. Certainly not run of the mill Luke

A beautiful journey from start to finish, with perfectly placed moments of gentility amidst the rhythmic intrigue and blast beats of their guest drummer. jsteadmanfan

Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
